Uniform and PE Kit and PPE Advice

Uniform Overview

We keep compulsory, branded uniform items to a minimum: a blazer and tie and a PE top and shorts or skort. These compulsory items are supplied by a local supplier Karl Sports Clothing: www.ksschoolwear.co.uk.  They are located at Unit 7 (just behind B&Q), Trafalgar Road, Kettering, Northants, NN16 8DB. Tel: 01536 601731.

Please click here for a Uniform Order Form.

Orders are delivered to the school by the supplier every Tuesday morning during term time.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

In line with the Safe Practice in Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) guidance, we strongly advise that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn by students when undertaking certain sports.

For Term 5, the sports undertaken will be tennis, rounders and athletics.  There are no specific PPE recommendations for these sports.

Please note that many students undertake informal sporting activities at break and lunchtime, such as football.  The strong advice above applies at these times as well, and shin guards are recommended for football.

In line with this guidance, should you wish your child to wear PPE, it is parental responsibility to provide it.  Whilst we may have a small supply of spare PPE for any given sport, we are not in a position to guarantee its availability each lesson.

We would recommend that parents and carers ensure that any PPE that is purchased meets the British Standards Institute (BSI) and European (EN) standards.

To support parents and carers with information about when PPE may be needed, an overview of the termly PE activities for each year group can be accessed on the Physical Education curriculum page of the website.

If there is to be a change of activity during a term and PPE may be required, we will send a text message to notify parents and carers of this change.

Uniform 'Loan Service'

We run a uniform loan service, in our Behaviour area, with items of donated uniform.  Any student may access any items that we have ‘in stock’.   We would be grateful if parents/carers would consider donating any items that their child has grown out of. We encourage all parents/carers to participate in this money saving system.

Lost property is also stored in the Behaviour area.  Students are expected to borrow items if they forget an item.

If you would like to swap a blazer, to discuss sizes and availability, please contact the Student Support Team on 01536 720300 or mail@latimer.org.uk
