Learning Resource Centre (LRC)

Please note that our book issuing service will be a remote one in September, with our LRC Manager supporting in individual year group zones.  Students will be permitted to borrow books and these will be cleaned in line wth our Coronavirus (Covid-19) protocols.

Please note that 'Aspire'' will not run initially in September.  However, we hope to relaunch it as soon as we can.

Opening times: 8:30am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

'Aspire', our homework support session runs daily in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) from 3.00pm to 4.30pm and is supervised by two members of staff.  All students are welcome to attend.

The LRC supports learning and the development of communication and literacy skills. With key events taking place throughout the year, it is a hive of activity.

Students can access the LRC’s well-stocked resources, including links to a wide range of online resources, newspapers and magazines, as well as popular teenage writers and other fiction such as graphic novels and Manga.

Our library catalogue, Eclipse, is accessible from any computer in the College. Students can use this system to search for resources, make reservations, view their LRC account or review books they have read.

After school, students can come and do their homework with dedicated staff lending a helping hand.

Accelerated Reader (Year 7 and 8)

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a programme followed by all Year 7 and 8 students, which develops confidence in reading and improves comprehension skill whilst developing a life-long love of reading.

Click here for our parents' guide to Accelerated Reader.

We look forward to seeing all students making full use of our Learning Resource Centre and will do our best to support each student in making progress and achieving personal success.
