Anti-Bullying Programme
Our aim is to provide a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our students so they can learn in a supportive and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable in college.
We are a ‘telling’ college. In other words, anyone who knows bullying is happening should tell a member of staff.
What is Bullying?
Bullying is repetitive behaviour by an individual or group hurting another individual either emotionally or physically. No one deserves to be bullied.
The college will respond quickly and effectively to issues of bullying.
Our Procedures
Step 1: Incident reported to form tutor, then passed on to the college’s anti-bullying lead member of staff
Step 2: The behaviour will be investigated and where bullying has occurred this will be addressed in line with the college’s Behaviour for Learning Policy
Step 3: If necessary and appropriate, the police will be informed
Step 4: Sanctions and counselling will be put into place to help the bully/bullies change their behaviour and support the victim/s involved in the bullying
Our school council (DEMOS) designed our student friendly anti-bullying policy. This is displayed in all classrooms across the college and in central areas.
We are pleased to announce that The Latimer Arts College has gained 'Silver' accreditation from the Local Authority for our commitment to anti bullying. We are on track for achieving a Gold Award.
