Main College Prospectus
Our prospectus will provide you with some key information:
Open Evening October 2021: Virtual Event
The governing body at The Latimer Arts College places the safety and well-being of its students and staff at the heart of all that it does. It is for this reason that a decision has been taken to amend the Open Evening process for this academic year.
With rising infection rates locally, we have a moral duty to minimise risk for all in our community. Therefore, it would be remiss of us to have high numbers of members of the public on site all at the same time.
However, we are keen to support parents and carers with the decision-making process for school places for Year 7 in 2022, and we are very proud of the learning experiences that The Latimer Arts College offers and want to showcase these to our community.
With this in mind we plan to offer a range of alternative opportunities that include: a ‘live’ stream of the Principal’s Presentation; a pre-recorded video tour of the College; and small, carefully managed tours throughout the College day.
Information will be published on this page about these events and is included in our Year 7 September 2022 Admissions Activities Letter.
College Tours: An Invitation to Join Us Onsite
Whilst we are unable to host an Open Evening, we do feel that we can provide a safe opportunity for those who wish to visit the College through a carefully controlled tour during the school day, conducted by one of the College’s Senior Leaders. We are sure that you will understand that there will need to be some strict criteria for this and we do ask for your support with adhering to this and appreciating that the tour process has been planned with the well-being of all of those in our community in mind.
The tours will be offered on Monday 11 October until Friday 15 October.
Full details of the tour process and control measures can be viewed in our Year 7 September 2022 Admissions Activities Letter.
Whilst we do not want to deter you, we also want to make sure that only essential visits take place. If you feel that this is necessary, then we would ask you to contact the College on 01536 720300 to book a slot.
Please note that we will do our best to group tours by primary schools where we can.
Year 7 Arts Aptitude Application Pack
If you are interested in applying for one of our 20 places that are awarded to students who display an aptitude for the arts, please follow this link for our Arts Aptitude Application Pack for 2022 admissions. We ask you to note the following key dates:
- An Arts College Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must be submitted to the College no later than 9.00 am on Monday 11th October 2021. Applications received after this date cannot be accepted.
- Following this deadline, contact will be made with parents and carers of Arts College applicants who have been selected on the basis of their SIF to proceed to the next stage.
- The successful applicants will be invited to submit a short video (or photo in the case of Art) for consideration in the discipline they have expressed an interest in (Dance, Drama, Music or Art).
- Parents and carers will be notified by the College if their child has shown an aptitude for the Arts in a letter that will be sent on Monday 25th October. This will not be an offer of a place, but an indication as to whether an applicant has an aptitude for the arts.
- Parents and carers must still submit the Local Authority admissions form and the closing date for this is 5pm on 31 October 2021.
- The Local Authority will confirm with parents and carers if their child has secured a place at The Latimer Arts College on 1 March 2022.
