Latimer Against Bullying

We are a large and vibrant community seeking to serve one another and to enable each member to fulfil their unique potential in line with our HEART values.  We are proud that we have worked with the Diana Award to train Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and take bullying very seriously.

Behaviour which seeks to bully, intimidate or discriminate against others is not tolerated.  This includes unhelpful or derogatory language which may have been described as ‘banter’.  Students and staff have been trained to identify and challenge homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, sexist and racist language, and we are clear as a community that ‘It’s not OK’.  We treat bullying behaviour as “peer on peer abuse". Students are encouraged to report any language or behaviour which makes them feel uncomfortable, either to a trusted adult in school or via this email address: reportaconcern@latimer.org.uk

In our pastoral team, Mrs Lucy Price is our go to person for supporting students who believe they are the victim of bullying. LPrice@latimer.org.uk

We invite parents/carers with concerns that their child might be being bullied to contact us in the first instance. Most incidents can be dealt with promptly and effectively through discussion, restorative conversations and follow up. Where this is not successful, we pursue the anti bullying policy in terms of dealing with the perpetrator and supporting the victim.

Our anti-bullying pathway has a ladder of escalating sanctions for those who perpetrate bullying towards another student (s) in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.
