Advice, Do's and Don'ts

Don't

1) The correct pages in the book, keep it relevant 1) Just do the first few parts of a question and skip the rest
2) All of the questions recommended by your teacher 2) Just focus on the things that you can already do
3) Ensure that you attempt a variety of each question type 3) Just choose the quickest questions
4) Time how long you are spending on them.  Are you actively working for an hour, are they taking longer than they should? 4) Move on too soon if you don't understand something
5) Mark your answers from the back of the book and ensure that you understand any corrections required 5) Forget to look at the worked examples in the text book
6) Seek help for anything that you are still struggling with 6) Copy answers out the back of the book!
7) Attempt the problem solving questions but don't spend too long on them, time might be better spent elsewhere 7) Leave everything in the calculator and just write down answers
8) Show full methods and set work out properly 8) Get too stressed over the same questions, but do seek help with them
9) Use the correct notation and language 9) Forget to look back at the notes and examples from your lessons
10) Simplify answers as far as possible 10) Forget to write the exercises and page numbers down, so that you can easily find this work in the future
