Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-Curricular Clubs 2023/24 - Term 4

Extra-curricular activities will be offered over the lunchtime period or after school from 3.00pm for approximately an hour.  (Please note that some sports fixtures may finish later than this.)

All activities are open to students in the year groups indicated, and we encourage students to join for fun, to learn new skills and to support with being selected to represent the College.

Students who attend extra-curricular activities are awarded with House points for their contribution to displaying our College values of Honesty, Excellence, Ambition, Respect and Teamwork.

If there is something not listed that students would like to see happening, tell us and we will do our best to make it happen!

Please keep revisiting these page as activities on offer change termly.

In addition to these activities, we are committed to a comprehensive programme of sporting competitions.  Of all the schools in the local area, we offer students the widest range of sport competitions to be part of.  Whilst participation, and providing students with a breadth of opportunities is our priority, we are proud of the significant success that our sporting teams achieve and are delighted to share these with parents and carers via our social media and fortnightly newsletter.

Across the year, students may also participate in events such as:

  • United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Events (all year groups)
  • Crest Award (Science)
  • Music Concerts (three time per year)
  • College Dance Show
  • Team Building Event (Year 7)
  • Dragon's Den (Year 7)
  • Take Your Child to Work Day (Year 8)
  • Careers Fair (Year 9 - Year 13)

Educational Visits

Enriching the curriculum with educational visits plays a key role in broadening the horizons of our students and providing memorable moments of school that students remember for years to come.  Each year we consider the range of opportunities that we can offer with the curriculum and cost of living considerations in mind.  For the academic year 2022-2023, amongst the experiences that we will be offering are:

Year 7: Black Country Museum, Woburn Safari Park

Year 8: Coasts Study, Theatre Trip

Year 9: UK Sports Tour, University Visit

Year 10: Geography Field Trip (compulsory curriculum entitlement), Theatre Trip, Wimbledon

Year 11 and Sixth Form: Students will undertake compulsory curriculum activities, such as field trips.  They will also be offered workshops and lectures as appropriate to the courses that they are studying subject to relevance and availability.

Sixth Form students will be offered a range of additional activities as part of their Enrichment afternoon.

We are also currently exploring a Ski Trip for February 2025, which we will be delighted to re-instate following the pandemic.
