Year 11 GCSE History Trip

Year 11 GCSE History Trip: Old Operating Theatre and Imperial War Museum, London November 2014

The gruesome nature of early 19th century surgery was brought to life for year 11 students who are studying history at GCSE. On a visit to the Old Operating Theatre in London students learnt about amputation and the dangers of infection. They were able to handle artefacts and learnt about a real life case study of a woman treated at the hospital.

We also visited The Imperial War Museum to support student coursework studies on The Impact of War in Britain.
